OK Mobility, the global mobility platform, continues its expansion in the French market by opening a new OK Store in Bordeaux. This latest milestone marks a significant step in the company's international expansion in France.
The new OK Store is located inside Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport, which had more than 6.6 million passengers in 2023. It joins last year's openings in Nice and Lyon. In this sense, and after the brand’s positive welcome from French and foreign customers in Nice and Lyon, OK Mobility has decided to expand its operations in the capital of Gironde.
The opening announcement was accompanied by an official opening ceremony of the new OK Store, attended by the President of the Airport, Simon Dreschel, and the Director of Sales, Hervé Etchenique.
The President of Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport, Simon Dreschel, expressed his delight at welcoming OK Mobility, after a tender to the airport, " We are delighted to have OK Mobility on board and allow them to operate within the airport premises. A new partner with whom, together with the other companies already present on our platform, we will continue to drive forward the continuous improvement of the quality of the services we offer to all our passengers and users".
Othman Ktiri, CEO of OK Mobility, highlighted that: “I want to thank the President of the Airport and the entire team at Bordeaux Airport for their warm welcome. On the one hand, France is, together with Spain, the country with the most tourists in the world and, on the other hand, I am French. For this reason, our intentions in France are logically ambitious, and we are strongly determined to create quality jobs and provide innovative and competitive mobility services in the country. In this regard, we are particularly proud of the success of our Subscription, a mobility service for 1 to 6 months, focused on French residents. In fact, at OK Mobility, our vision of international expansion is not limited to expanding our presence in new markets. Still, we also seek to integrate into local communities, understand their needs and offer mobility solutions that contribute positively to the development and wellbeing of all citizens".
Alexis Elbaz, OK Mobility's Country Manager in France, reaffirmed the company's efforts to offer unique mobility experiences to residents and tourists: "We are growing in France to continue to offer the best mobility solutions globally, backed by a modern, premium and fully equipped fleet".
After the opening ceremony, Othman Ktiri was greeted by Pierre Hurmic, Mayor of Bordeaux. Ktiri took the opportunity to thank the mayor for his welcome and to congratulate him on his presidency at the Global Social Economy Forum (GSEF). In addition, as the leader in the rental market in Spain and a recipient of more than 3 million passengers of more than 120 nationalities, Ktiri committed to promoting Bordeaux as a quality tourism destination.
Famous for its world-renowned vineyards, Bordeaux has experienced a surge in popularity in recent years thanks to its cultural and gastronomic offerings. Its rich architectural history makes it the city with the second most UNESCO-protected buildings in France. According to data from the Bordeaux Tourist and Convention Bureau, Spanish tourists lead the ranking of foreign tourists to the city, followed by the British and Germans.
Following its recent growth in the United States, with the announcement of new stores in Florida earlier this year, OK Mobility continues to strengthen its position in Europe by increasing its presence in France.
The opening of the new OK Store in Bordeaux is part of OK Mobility's ambitious #OKontheRoad Plan, whose main objective is to boost its international presence and the scope of its mobility services. The leading global mobility platform currently has a network of over 70 OK Stores in 15 countries and an annual traffic of more than 3 million users.
