OK Mobility continues to expand in Southeast Europe and lands in Bosnia and Macedonia

Aug 20, 2024
  • The global mobility platform is expanding its presence to 17 countries, opening two new OK Stores in the capital cities of Sarajevo and Skopje.
  • These new branches consolidate OK Mobility’s presence in emerging tourist destinations, in response to the 40% increase in demand for vehicle rental in this region.

OK Mobility lands in Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia, opening two new OK Stores in the capital cities of each country, Sarajevo and Skopje. With these new branches, the global mobility platform has further expanded its geographic presence to two emerging tourist destinations in Southeast Europe, responding to the 40% increase in demand for bookings in this region over the past year.

The new OK Stores are located in Sarajevo International Airport and Skopje International Airport. These two airports welcomed over 1.3 million and over 3 million passengers in 2023, respectively, and have established themselves as some of the fastest growing airports in Southeast Europe, reflecting the significant increase of tourism in this region.

The Balkans and Eastern Europe have become increasingly popular among European tourists, particularly visitors from Spain. The affordable prices, better transport connections due to direct flights, beautiful landscapes, and rich culture and gastronomy are just some of the main attractions. This is reflected by the tourist visitor numbers to the emerging countries in this region, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia, which in 2022 welcomed almost a million and half a million tourists, respectively, according to figures published by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Othman Ktiri, CEO of OK Mobility, declares that “We are delighted to announce the opening of our new OK Stores in Sarajevo and Skopje, two capital cities that represent the momentum and growth of the tourism market in Southeast Europe. Our brand is global, both for ourselves and for our customers, which we continue to demonstrate. While it may seem hard to believe, OK Mobility is now active in 17 countries, and I’m happy to say that this is just the beginning”.

The company’s network now includes over 70 OK Stores, distributed throughout Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Greece, Malta, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, the United States, Morocco, Albania, Romania, France and Turkey, with two new branches now in Bosnia and Macedonia.

It is now possible to book vehicle rentals in Sarajevo and Skopje throughokmobility.com.
